Hi

I'm not sure I follow you here. I started tightvncserver and
logged in to it with xtightvncviewer and sucessfully copied and
pasted there. No vncconfig running at all which means that it
is not needed.

Running version 1.3.9-1 right now.

However you are fully correct that vncconfig tells
"No VNC extension on display :1.0" with tightvncserver as it is not
needed.
