Whereas I can confirm this bug for Gnucash 2.0.5-1 I am not able to reproduce it using Gnucash 2.2.6-1. Apparently the whole application is now blocked until a save operation is finished. Are you still able to reproduce it using Gnucash 2.2.6-1? If not, let's mark the bug as fixed in Gnucash 2.2.6-1.
