I'm quite sure that I was able to reproduce this bug weeks ago, but I did not have time for investigation. Now I wanted to have a look at it again, and it turns out that the package builds just fine. Maybe some package on which it build-depends was broken and is now fixed. At least in sid; I'll try again in lenny once's I prepared an up-to-date lenny chroot.
