Hi! I'm upstream author of libidn, and currently helping with the debian packaging. I agree that the Java stuff should be packaged. However, I'm not convinced the Python library is useful: modern Python releases have native IDN support, see: http://www.python.org/doc/2.3.2/lib/module-encodings.idna.html May I ask why you want the Python support from libidn?
