If I upgrade to the "broken" version (5.4-6 or later): ncurses 5.4.20050604 If I downgrade to the version that words for me (5.4-4): ncurses 5.4.20050604 I.e., the same version of "tic" is reported. I'm not surprised, as there are no executables in ncurses-base -- just data. It may bear repeating that I can make the breakage come and go *just* by changing the installed version of ncurses-base, i.e., the terminfo and tabset data. -- G.
