Yes, there is plenty (2238) of icons with various mtime in /var/lib/fvwm-crystal/icons/Default, last modification of some icons (133) occurred 8 days ago. So this is probably not the problem because menu updating is long every time and no icons are modified.
I tried to run profiler on script but it is running already for a hour and I must interrupt it. Maybe tomorrow I will have more time. Can the profiler output help?
