I didn't have to go that far... i must be misunderstanding something as TAO's performance test named "Explicit_Binding" works. (I've taken it from your orig tarball). Note that they're overriding the protocol policy... it isn't passing thru a Naming Service either. Now i'm left wondering what i'm doing wrong or what i'm missing.
