Hi,
Don't know if this is a bug in udev or in my configuration or
somewhere else. Just wanted to report it in case there is something
wrong with the udev 0.062-1 upgrade.
Everything worked fine with udev 0.056-3 and udev 0.060-1. However,
after upgrading to udev 0.062-1, nvidia device nodes are no longer
created during system startup.
I can fix this manually simply by saying:
/etc/init.d/udev restart
After this command, the following nodes appear and XFree86 can be
started:
crw-rw---- 1 root video 195, 255 2005-07-10 13:25 /dev/nvidiactl
crw-rw---- 1 root video 195, 0 2005-07-10 13:25 /dev/nvidia0
The "nvidia" module is loaded from /etc/modules. The kernel is
2.6.11-1-686 and the system is an up-to-date Debian unstable.
