Hmm, I thought the plan was to drop the Essential flag and rename it at the same time. I'm reluctant to renaming it while being essential, because, well, because it's essential! So, what about doing this instead? 1. The following control field is added to diff: Provides: diffutils 2. We announce to the public that diff will be both renamed and dropped his essential flag, and ask everybody to add Depends or Build-Depends on *diffutils*, which will be its final name. This of course includes adding diffutils to build-essential. 3.
