ok,ok! nmh is not broken without metamail. sorry for the noise (if i can't read mail first thing in the morning, i usually get a little bit touchy :). you can easily fix things in ~/.mh_profile or systemwide in /etc/nmh/mhn.defaults or leave metamail in aptitude's obsolete package section until hell freezes over. but still: somebody got to contact the nmh maintainer to tell him to ship new default configs with nmh, which do not depend on metamail (which will be a pain in the ass, because everybody uses different apps...). but it's not that bad. if somebody is crazy enough to use nmh, she probably knows how to use an editor ;). thanks for making the best OS in the world.
