The application starts correctly, and shows a list of Window themes on the left
('Clearlooks' is selected). The preview window on the right shows the default
Clearlooks GTK theme. If I select a different Window theme, the preview panel
goes black for a second and then reappears with the same Clearlooks theme
applied. This is the same for all of the listed Window themes.
There is also no change to the preview if I attempt to select a different font,
or change the icon theme from nuoveXT.2.2 to GNOME, or change the Toolbar Style
to 'text below icons', etc.
If I click Apply, the lxdepanel disappears and reappears, but there is no
visible change to the current desktop theme. Rebooting the machine, or
restarting X does not help.
I am using a user other than root: If I read ~/.gtkrc-2.0 after clicking Apply
in lxappearance, my theme selection is correctly recorded in the file.
If I run lxappearance from LXTerminal, the following errors are printed:
(lxappearance:6122): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_socket_get_id: assertion
`GTK_IS_SOCKET (socket)' failed
(lxappearance:6124): Gtk-WARNING **: GtkSpinButton: setting an adjustment with
non-zero page size is deprecated
This system is a fresh i386 testing netinst base installation. This behaviour
is the same whether the 'lxde' package is installed, or 'lxappearance' is
installed after 'gdm' and 'lxde-core'.
