I'm listening and will try to provide a patch the follows the ideas given by upstream shortly.
As an dokuwiki administrator, I think it's fooling people to say that their real name will not be shown and then only have that done half way. It did catch me by surprise when I noticed real names when following the feed of my site. It's fine to say that people should use pseudonyms, and I also think there should be some consistency in the software's behavior.
