thanks for maintaining skytools, but what is it? :) I've noticed it in NEW, read "Database management tools from Skype to PostgreSQL" and got curious. So I read the description: Skytools are database management tools to WAL shipping, queueing and replication. This package has Python parts of skytools: . - londiste - PostgreSQL replication engine written in Python - pgqadm - PgQ tickter and administration interface - walmgr - Tools for managing WAL-based replication for PostgreSQL. Homepage: http://pgfoundry.org/projects/skytools/ And yet, I have no idea what it does. PostgreSQL is a database, Skype is this propietary VOIP application. Well, and then I'm totally at loss. Maybe it would help if I knew what WAL is, but still, I think a description should give a faint idea to outsiders, even if they don't know all acronyms. cheers, Holger
