Package: belpic Version: all We have noticed that the debian versionof "belpic" maintained in the repository is very old (version 2.6, new version is 3.5.3) which we don't support anymore at Fedict (federal department for IT in Belgium). The package in question does not work anymore with the newer batches of electronic identity cards issued by the Belgian government to all citizens. This generates a lot of complaints and incidents at our Helpdesk.
Could you remove this package from the repository? Would it be possible to hand maintainership over to me, as I'm responsible for support regarding the eID? As a support manager I'm in direct contact with the developers contributing to this software and have knowledge of all known bugs and issues with the software, as I'm officially second line support for the eID in Belgium. When we create version 4.0 this year, we will once again be able to push a package into the repository.
