thanks for your interest in unicode-screensaver. Did you read the other
bugreport about this issue:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=561261

I prefer it this way, and as the author, I reserve the right to have the
default after my taste :-)

If you use xscreensaver, you can easily configure it using the
xscreensaver configuration tool.

Not sure if it is appropriate to provide two .desktop files for the
users of gnome-screensaver; it goes against the GNOME philosophy of
having not too many configuration options.
