Hello David, Thanks for your patience..:-) Would you mind trying the packages from http://people.debian.org/~bubulle/packages/samba-debug-lenny/? They're exactly Lenny packages plus the above patch. If that fixes your problem, I'll upload them to stable-proposed-updates.
