Package: auctex Version: 11.55-1 emacs version: 21.4a-1
locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Debian 3.1 `sarge' With emacs/auctex I create a TeX source file in a directory which has an Umlaut in the pathname: /home/olaf/tex/tagebücher/ When I kill the emacs-buffer of the TeX source file or exit emacs, /home/olaf/tex/tagebücher/auto/ and /home/olaf/tex/tagebücher/auto/name-of-my-file.el are generated without error-messages. When I start emacs newly and try to visit my TeX source file, the following error-message appears (and the file is not visited): Cannot open load file: /home/olaf/tex/tagebücher/auto/name-of-my-file.el Without exiting emacs I try to visit the TeX file again, this time successfully, but AUCTeX does not work as when I generated the file, for example, typing a quote " now inserts `` although it is a [german] file. These problems are gone when I rename the path to /home/olaf/tex/tagebuch/ Remark: Visiting other (non-TeX) files with Umlauts in the pathname or filename or displaying their name in dired mode works without problems in emacs. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
