The problem is that due to some contraints (such as small screen),
the fixed font is hardly replaceable. Well, at least I couldn't
find a font that has the same width and that is readable enough.

Here "Mono-9" gives a font that is less readable than "fixed" when
accented characters are used (which occur very often in French).
Another problem with "Mono-9" is that the digit "1" and the letter
"l" look very similar (only one pixel is changed); this is a major
problem in programming languages.
