Actually I can't reproduce the issue on a stable system neither. You
wrote later in the bugreport that it worked "until yesterday". What did
change for you? Did you do partial upgrades? According to your depends
you seem to have done that:

stable has perl 5.10.0-19lenny2 and not 5.10.1-12 - the issue seems to
be related to the partial upgrade.
I am marking this bugreport as not affecting stable then.
