in an effort to save someone else the same trouble we just had, it would be nice to add a /usr/share/doc/rsync/README.Debian file with a note that to get the init.d script to work you have to edit /etc/default/rsync by hand and set RSYNC_ENABLE=true after adding a /etc/rsyncd.conf file as per the 'man rsyncd.conf' man page. also it would be good if this page was updated with the same vital clue about editing /etc/default/rsync: http://www.debian.org/mirror/push_server eventually we figured it out by following the trail of the init.d script, but that was after some time of chin scratching... thanks, Hamish -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.5 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
