Some more details about this NEdit bug (and bug 340780):

Reminder: First NEdit's tab is always ok when typing any accented characters for both single-key accented characters (e.g. é, è and à for french keyboards) and two-key accented characters (e.g. ï, ê, etc.). The present bug highlighted the impossibility to type two-key accented characters into any extra tab.

But, I've noticed some more rules for this bug:

Any extra tab will also ignore single-key accented characters (as well as two-key ones) when it somehow* looses focus (e.g. é, è and à for french keyboards). Hence, a mouse click, for example, will give focus back to the tab and restore expected behaviour, but for single-key accented characters only.

*Indeed this happens only when pressing ctrl+n (create new file-tab) while the mouse pointer isn't over the main NEdit window. Note that the same bug affects find/replace/got to line/etc. popup windows when mouse pointer is not over the main NEdit window.
