Thank you for your bug report and the nice test case that you included. Having a small test case such as that was wonderful. As you know Lenny is being replaced by Squeeze which is due out very soon now. The version in Squeeze does not suffer from this problem. As Tony noted it has already been fixed upstream. It has already propagated into Debian Unstable Sid and is only waiting for the release of Squeeze as Stable. I have tagged this bug 'lenny' so that it will remain unarchived and applicable to Lenny until Squeeze has released. Until then if you have the opportunity to test the latest version in Unstable Sid that would be great. There have been many improvements.
