I just verified that the dependencies for the Squeeze version of the package are still valid for Lenny. The newer version in Squeeze may be installed on Lenny without problems. Which also means that it does not meet the criteria for a backport and so no backport can be submitted for Lenny. If desired, just use the package from Squeeze directly.
