I missed this posting, somehow, but it doesn't solve the issue: the library
construction can be done by gcc as well as by g++. It doesn't end the
unresolved references to the ssl symbols when constructing bobcatlcgen. For
now, I'll stick to --no-as-needed (see my previous posting).
Since it looks as though this (i.e., using --no-as-needed) solves the issue,
I'll prepare an update tomorrow unless I hear about complications that I've
missed.
