This sounds like an excellent idea. Yes, we would love help to have the Authenticator officially packaged as a Debian module. Let me know if you have any specific questions. I just found a little more time to work on this code for a few hours per week, and I have started adding a couple of features myself. Will try to finish up my changes later this week.
