I think so, yes.  If it had been removed earlier, it would have
prompted me to seek out a newer/better IMAP server.

It does not happen on "rare occasions" here.  I've repaired corrupted
mailboxes about four times in the past two months, and on a mail
server with not a huge volume of incoming mail (30 msgs/hour) and half
a dozen users carrying out IMAP activity.

I've now switched to Dovecot and am quite happy with it.  I was not
aware that uw-imapd was so deprecated. :-)
