Oops, I just realized that the machine I submitted the report on has debian-goodies 0.53, so what I wrote is incorrect.
However, the main issue in the bug report still seems to be valid, since my diff was actually between a svn checkout and a 0.55 version retrieved from the Debian archives using dget. -- Kenyon Ralph
