Hello. I hit the same bug when installing 32bit CentOS 4 on 64bit system. Installation fails because 64bit python installed by yum fails to load 32bit modules installed before. So for 32bit CentOS 4 on 64bit system (at least) this is not a wishlist, but a show stopper. Would be very cool to get this fixed.
