lspci | grep Audio 00:14.2 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA) 01:00.1 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc HD48x0 audio I only use one of the soundcards. The second one is on my graphics card. "-noadc" works! I can hear sound and no error is displayed. I don't know what proper values to choose for the other parameters. But I realised that it's actually jack and not puredata which aborts because of an assertion: Cannot create new client jackd: ../common/JackGraphManager.cpp:45: void Jack::JackGraphManager::AssertPort(jack_port_id_t): Assertion `port_index < fPortMax' failed.
