Method: Boot from CD (tried also from DVD)

 

Machine: i686 built from following components>

Motherboard: ATI RS480M2 (integrated grapics ATI Raedon X200)

Processor: AMD Athlon64 3000+ socket939

Memory: 512 MB Apacer CL2.5

Root Device: SATA 160GB 7200RPM 8Mb cache IBM deskstar

Root Size/partition table: I allocated 12GB from WinXP with PartionMagic8.05

 

Output of lspci and lspci -n: (didn‘t accept this command)

Comments/Problems: I’ll just write a message from the installation: „Linux kernel modules needed to drive some of your hardware are not available yet.Simply proceeding with the install may make these modules available later> ide-mod, ide-probe-mode, ide-detect, ide-scsi“.....

....then the installation stopped when trying to partition hard drives...with a message „Please check that a HDD is attached to this machine“...
