Xypron, this does in fact appear to be the case. Its compatible, and seeing as I am the maintainer of this, and a member pkg-mysql-maint, which is the maintenance team for MySQL, we can at least expect that I will remember to re-upload handlersocket whenever we upload MySQL. I'll try to have this ready by the time the MySQL 5.5 transition gets under way since that is the next time I was planning to upload handlersocket.
