As you see in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=650062 there are packages which depends on this. Without cordinating with them, I can not drop this package right away. If you adovocate removal, please make sure to get others to cooperate. If it is consensus, I am OK to remove this for wheezy.
