Here is what I'm doing. I've some "entries" files which I generated a with Gnome 2.8 with the command: gconftool-2 --dump /my/conf/key > my.entries and possibly tweaking the generated file by hand. Then, to populate the configuration source with the relevant %gconf.xml, I run: gconftool-2 --direct \ --config-source xml:readwrite:/usr/share/gconf/cdd.defaults \ --load my.entries It turned out that this works with some of my .entries files, for example the one I created to set Metacity theme, but not with others, for example the one for the Gnome panel. I suspect that this is due to some incompatible schemas between 2.8 and 2.10. I attach below my broken .entries, is there a way to understand where it is broken exactly? Cheers, Free
