I'll tell a bit on the background: my headphone was broken, so I bought a new one: a wireless plantronics. This thing comes with its own soundcard. There is a USB-stick that works as a wifistation for the headphone. It works fine without additional driver in windows xp (same machine in multiboot). The soundcontrols on the headset control the volume slider on the gstreamer applet, but no sound comes through. The card is detected as secondary card, maybe that can be changed, but I can't find this in documentation.
