It is. Some of the incompatible changes date back to 6.0.7 and were the
reason why we stuck with 6.0.6 for sarge. As far as I remember, we've
notified upstream about the breakage back then, but despite further ABI
changes we're still with the old soname in 6.2.3. I've started another
plea for a soname bump at the URL given above. Steve, in the meantime
should we go back to the ABI in testing and file bugs on all packages
built with 6.2.3 or just wait for a soname bump from upstream, which
will require a global recompile anyway?
