In theory, yes. In practice, there is no upgrade path because varnish and vinyl-cache use different configuration files. Do you REALLY think that it is better to add 8 archive-wide package relationships which will burden everybody than ignoring a theoretical corner case for packages with popcon < 5?

The varnish-* packages will be removed from the archive in a few days.
Are you saying that varnish will be removed from trixie?
It will be removed from unstable.
