The important thing first: jigdo-mirror needs more testers! When 3.0r0 is released, cdimage will be so overloaded that any rsync-based mirroring will be very slow, so set up jigdo-mirror instead!

I've been wondering whether the info on the PIK should be removed altogether from the web pages - will .list files still be generated for 3.0 and later releases? > PIK was kind of inefficient and required a final rsync to get the > full image, which requires (at least) the master site to carry a > full set of images. FWIW, I fixed a few issues lately. I suspect it still won't work for you, but if you have the time you can try it out again and tell me where it fails now. > There exists a C port, but that is not actively maintained > currenlty. What "usability issues"? :) I'm making slow progress with the jigdo GUI app if that's what you mean... > http://www.acc.umu.se/~maswan/debian-push/jigdo-mirror > > Richard: Perhaps the jigdo-mirror script should be in a more > official place than here and in the list archives? jigdo-mirror has been part of the last two jigdo releases. I always had the feeling that nobody bothers to read my release announcements. ;-P On Mon, May 27, 2002 at 01:31:10AM +0200, Mattias Wadenstein wrote: > The jigdo-mirror script would be the equivalent of debcdmirror, it > could probably use some work since I think I am the only one that > has reported usage of it (and I found some issues).
