1. Upgrade to xcin-2.5.2.1-1.
apt-get install xcin
2. Use apt-get instead of downloading stuff from the pool directly.
Make sure you have updated your /etc/apt/sources.list
3. Make sure you have configured X correctly in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4.
Especially, the font settings, and that the "xtt" module should be
used instead of the "freetype" module.
4. Try running xcinterm-big5 to start xcin and crxvt. If you can't type
Chinese in the crxvt-big5 window after running xcinterm-big5, run it
again. (My guess is that sometimes crxvt starts up so fast that it
is running before xcin is loaded... I'll need to fix the
xcinterm-big5 script to add a small delay...)
For more information, see Yu Guanghui's excellent Chinese FAQ. (Yes,
there is a Big5 version now too.)
Let me know if you still experience problems.
Cheers,
Anthony
