Hi Michael, While updating the debian/copyright is tedious for a large package like rsyslog, our policies are pretty clear that it needs to be done. Having rsyslog go through the NEW queue triggered a review and the more outdated the file is, the more work there is now in one go, unfortunately.
If it helps, you can use lrc to scan for mismatches. I drafted https://salsa.debian.org/debian/rsyslog/-/merge_requests/13 as an example of what kind of updates are likely needed, but I am not sure if I have time to finalize it - feel free to use it as a base yourself if you want. - Otto
