While I presume that you are not (yet) a Debian Developer, you equally might consider https://mentors.debian.net/ - which provides an automatic screening, eases review by (potential) users and future sponsors for an upload to `testing` (the typical point of entry for packages), provides a template to file the RFS. If you browse through the list of packages in the queue, you find everything in the range of "this my first package" up to and including experienced contributors with multiple packages maintained for years who prefer review of the packaging by another developer.
