Hi Nigel,

less complex, nload will tell you the amount of traffic. 
Just wondering: Could the latency of round-trips (ping times) be of 
interest here, whenever authorisation is negotiated with LDAP?

What applications are slow, particularily? Maybe it is just the Firefox 
bug connected to auto-proxy?
