How to make changes to the application launcher of KDE Plasma?

Hi folks,

I have installed a few new applications. Unlike desktop environments like
LXDE, Gnome, etc. these new applications don’t show up in the application
launcher of KDE Plasma. The only alternative I found is to use the search
function.

I tried the “Edit Applications…” menu entry but it has been disabled for
good reasons I guess.

How can I add new applications or make changes?
