I'm relatively new to git, but I'm curious why you (I guess this means Glenn and Damyan) bother to maintain a quilt series in the git tree. Why not turn each patch into a git commit, either on the debian branch, or on a branch of proposed changes to be sent upstream, and get rid of quilt and debian/patches entirely?
