Please explain exactly what you did. You probably did not apply the workaround correctly. Perhaps you forgot to run 'update-grub' after editing /etc/default/grub? > Manually loading module gives error device not found. > eeepc folder is missing in devices. cat /proc/cmdline If you applied the fix correctly, this command shows acpi_osi="Linux" is included in the kernel commandline.
