Great, works a treat. That just leaves the oddity in gnupg (that is seems to execute the code that requires that cache file) and sysvinit. Then I have the complete set of base files. sysvinit seems to have a problem with debian/readlink. There is a readlink.c file in the debian directory, but it does not seem to get compiled.
