Package: libc6 Version: 2.3.2-2 Severity: critical Tags: sid Justification: breaks unrelated software
After upgrading to libc6 2.3.2-2, a lot of programs have begun to fail with SIGILL on a SparcStation 10, among them procps: waegoo:~/procps-3.1.11# gdb ./debian/procps/bin/ps (...) (gdb) r Starting program: /root/procps-3.1.11/debian/procps/bin/ps (no debugging symbols found)...(no debugging symbols found)... (no debugging symbols found)... Program received signal SIGILL, Illegal instruction. 0x50088b18 in __strtod_internal () from /lib/libc.so.6 (gdb) bt #0 0x50088b18 in __strtod_internal () from /lib/libc.so.6 #1 0x500a88f0 in _IO_vfscanf () from /lib/libc.so.6 #2 0x500b4ad0 in vsscanf () from /lib/libc.so.6 This also seems to break reportbug, so I simply downgraded to 2.3.1-16 again, which works just fine. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: sparc Kernel: Linux waegoo 2.4.20 #3 Mon Dec 16 15:59:00 CET 2002 sparc Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C Versions of packages libc6 depends on: ii libdb1-compat 2.1.3-7 The Berkeley database routines [gl -- no debconf information -- Homepage: http://www.sesse.net/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
