I've done a search of the string es_ES under /etc and these are the
files that have it:

/etc/locale.gen
/etc/gdm/locale.conf
/etc/gdm/locale.conf.dpkg-old
/etc/locale.alias
/etc/locale.gen.localeconf-backup
/etc/locale.gen~
/etc/openoffice/dictionary.lst.old
/etc/openoffice/dictionary.lst
/etc/gdmcopia/locale.conf

They all look ok. :(
