Package: locales
Version: 2.3.1-17
Severity: grave

Hello,

when I try to generate locales on my system, localedef crashes.

Generating locales...

/usr/sbin/locale-gen: line 24: 28684 Segmentation fault localedef -i
$input -c -f $charset $locale -A /etc/locale.alias

This does not happen when locales are installed the first time after
installation, they are created but only once. When I reexecute
locale-gen manually or via dpkg-reconfigure locales, localedef
segfaults.

If you cannot reproduce this, let me know and I will try to find time
for a debugging session.

MfG,
Eduard.

I tried. I recompiled glibc package, but when it came to testing, it did
no longer crash. The package version did not segfault either, so I am
amazed now, but I won't keep this RC bug open.

MfG,
Eduard.
