Hi Andrew, golang-github-moby-moby-api and golang-github-moby-moby-client are my packages. I prepared them long ago, before I was aware of the team preference, so please send me any questions or preferences about them. The ITPs (https://bugs.debian.org/1149066 and https://bugs.debian.org/1149067) went to this list, but I should have explained the plan here more clearly. Sorry for the confusion.
They are meant to be temporary. stereoscope (for syft and grype) needs both modules, and they first appear in docker 29, while unstable has docker.io 28.5.2. Each debian/README.source says so: when docker.io moves to 29.x, it builds the same binary packages at a higher version, and I file RM bugs for the two sources. I do not plan to update them on their own until then. I agree with a preference for one source per upstream repository. You asked for fewer split packages on golang-opentelemetry-auto too, and I merged its two -dev packages into one. It is also my plan for docker.io 29: https://salsa.debian.org/mendezr/docker/-/wikis/Docker29Transition As Reinhard said, how docker.io 29 is split is still open, and I will follow what the team decides there. Juan
