No no. as I said, it is linked statically. no need
-lXinerama_pic stuff. libmetacity-private.la had
-lXinerama_pic. but .la doesn't have it anymore. the packages
which requires libmetacity-dev can be built using it, no?
It was actually a bug on libmetacity-private.la. not any
dependency, because if -lXinerama_pic is removed in .la, the
packages can be built and it works.
